Hillary Clinton ad accuses Donald Trump of Brexit profiteering during Scotland visit
The Hillary Clinton campaign has targeted Donald Trump for his favourable outlook on the post-Brexit collapse of the pound.
During his visit to Scotland, which saw bookmaker Paddy Power greet him with a Mexican mariachi band, and another protestor gift Nazi golfballs to attendees of a press conference (that excluded the Guardian and Buzzfeed), Trump said the falling pound would benefit his golf resort: “When the pound is down, people come to Turnberry.”
Almost immediately Clinton cranked up the heat on Trump.
In a campaign advert she accused him of looking only to profit from the turbulence, it said: “Every president is tested by world events, but Donald Trump thinks about how his golf resort can profit from them. In a volatile world, the last thing we need is a volatile president."
The 30 second slot called 'Tested' will air on US screens throughout the week.
