In the chaos of reporting the UK's decisive vote to leave the European Union, it can be understandable that mistakes will be made.

Fox News mistakenly reported that the UK had chosen to leave the UN

So spare a thought for Fox News this morning, who are running with the breaking story that Britain has chosen to leave the United Nations on the TV channel.

At the time of writing, they appear to have realised their mistake, and have quietly changed captions on their live broadcast to fit.

The UK voted to leave the European Union following the referendum held across the country yesterday. 17,410,742 people voted in favour of a so-called 'Brexit', while 16,141,241 people made the case to remain - an overall turnout of 72% of the UK's electorate.

The news is already causing uncertainty in the markets, and senior figures in the advertising industry have expressed their concern at the implications a Brexit brings to the field.
