McCann’s Mark Lund, Margaret Calvert and Innocent Smoothie’s Richard Reed awarded in Queen’s Birthday Honours

A string of prevalent names in the advertising and creative industries have been awarded in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list 2016 including the chief executive of McCann Worldgroup UK Mark Lund, UK road sign designer Margaret Calvert and the co-founder of Innocent Smoothies Richard Reed.

Lund received an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to the advertising industry; Calvert was also awarded and OBE for her services to typography and road safety, while Reed was made a CBE for services to the food industry and to charity.

Elsewhere singer Rod Stewart has been knighted for services to music and charity, and Tim Peake, Britain's first male astronaut received a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for space research and scientific education.

Speaking from the International Space Station, he said: "I am honoured to receive the first appointment to the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George for extraordinary service beyond our planet.”

TV presenters Ant and Dec were made OBEs for services to broadcasting and entertainment and actor Brian Blessed was awarded an OBE for services to the arts and charity.
