Twitter TV year in review: the biggest social TV moments from the 2015-16 season

With the traditional 2015-16 TV season (August 31 - May 29) over and the promising summer season upon us, Nielsen looked back at the big moments and series capturing fans' attention.

When it came to the most-tweeted series, there were few surprises. 'The Walking Dead,' 'Empire,' 'Game of Thrones,' 'The Bachelor,' and 'The Voice' continue to drive the social chatter season after season.

With events, though, the Grammys - with its performance-driven show, topped the Oscars.

And in sports, it was all about #mambaday, as Kobe Bryant closed out his storied career, scoring an amazing 60 points in his final game.
