Hacked road sign alleges that Donald Trump is a ‘shape-shifting lizard’
Texas drivers were met with the allegation that Republican candidate and entrepreneur Donald Trump is a reptile capable of shifting his form after a series of highway road signs were hacked near Dallas.
On top of the claim that Trump is indeed a ‘shape-shifting lizard’ on the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) road signs, was a message touting ‘Bernie for President’.
I'm not sure this is what @TxDOT meant for this road sign to say... #Dallas @NBCDFW pic.twitter.com/4iPldtM9gJ

Another read ‘Work is cancelled, go back home’.
And we have a third hacked sign - though I think this one is a little less divisive politically. #Dallas @nbcdfw pic.twitter.com/TUp1Vj2M1G

A TXDOT spokesperson said: “Any sort of tampering with that sort of stuff is a third-degree felony and it’s punishable. We’re talking prison time.”
To alter the signs, hackers had to physically break into the back panel of each unit and alter the text.
The stunt while amusing highlights the real dangers of relying upon digital comms – they can be manipulated by hackers to provide false or even damaging information.
Just last week, the people of Malmo were subject to hardcore Meatspin porn broadcast from new digital information board.
