Social Buzz Chat: The Startup Van founders talk 'short, shareable' videos and how to start from scratch on YouTube

Sitting on the Social Buzz sofa this week were Graham Hussey and Mark McDonagh, founders of YouTube channel The Startup Van, which hosts short videos with the best and brightest entrepreneurs in the startup world.

As well as dishing out some advice for startups, the pair shared their experience of creating a YouTube channel from scratch.

Having worked together at IBM, the duo were already blogging around the startup community, but then they decided to create something "a bit different" noted Hussey.

"These entrepreneurs we were speaking to everyday were so passionate, and had really good advice. The likes of the Richard Bransons and Gary Vaynerchuks of the world get to be on video and to impart their advice," he added.

And hence, the Statup Van was born when to give startups and entrepreneurs in the early stages of business a "cool" platform to grab people's attention.

The series accompanies The Drum’s weekly Social Buzz chat, which takes place every Tuesday between 7-8pm GMT. You can follow and contribute on Twitter using the hashtag #SMBuzzChat.
