With the site recently seeing many publishers and brand adopt the technology, GoPro-sponsored athlete Jeb Corliss will put his skills to the test by performing The Human Arrow stunt at the Great Wall of China on Saturday 28 May.

In addition, GoPro’s Facebook page and GoPro’s blog will share the footage at 5.00am in the UK.

Corliss will drop from a helicopter at 6000 feet, fly through the air at 120 mph and hit an apple-sized target suspended over the Great Wall of China, all broadcast in real-time.

Ocean MacAdams, vice president of GoPro Entertainment, said: “GoPro is excited to provide this breakthrough broadcast experience and enable viewers to fly along with Jeb as he takes this historic jump. It will be as if you are right there, riding on his back.

“Jeb is one of the world’s foremost and best-known Base-jumpers and wingsuit pilots, and the perfect athlete to demonstrate how GoPro is changing the way people see and experience live events.”

Corliss’ was out of the game for a time having suffered life threatening injuries during a base jump. The stunt marks his return to the bigtime with a wide-reaching statement of intent.

Earlier this week, GoPro inked a media partnership with Red Bull. The link-up will formalise the pair's working relationship, spanning content production, distribution, cross-promotion and product innovation.
