Cloud computing firm Salesforce has taken a step toward bolstering its international footprint after signing a deal to collaborate with public cloud infrastructure provider AWS.

This will allow it to enter new territories without the need to build expensive data centres in countries which require data to be hosted within their own jurisdiction. This will better enable Salesforce to compete with the likes of Oracle and Microsoft, the latter of which Salesforce also has a relationship with.

In a statement Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said: “There is no public cloud infrastructure provider that is more sophisticated or has more robust enterprise capabilities for supporting the needs of our growing global customer base.”

Services to be offered by AWS as part of the deal include Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, App Cloud, Community Cloud, Analytics Cloud.
