PG Tips rapping monkey responds to Radiocentre ad calling out Unilever CMO Keith Weed

Unilever brand PG Tips has responded to an ad from radio trade body Radiocentre calling out the company’s chief marketing officer, Keith Weed, as part of a wider drive looking to inspire create ad campaigns on the radio waves.

Lucky Generals recently launched a 60 second slot hitting home the benefits of radio advertising stating “you can be the leader, Keith Weed from Unilever”.

The branching campaign will be aimed at top marketers urging them to show the range of radio ads.

PG Tips moved quickly on the act, getting the Monkey to lay down the gauntlet with a rap melody, carrying the #Keepittea hashtag.

The move comes after PG Tips floated a topiary monkey down the Thames to tempt Londoners with the allure of tea.
