YouTube for iPhone now works with Google Cardboard
Google has announced that its YouTube app for iOS is now compatible with its virtual reality headset, Cardboard.
Last fall, Google announced that it would not only begin to support virtual reality content but would also make its existing library of videos viewable through Cardboard.
However, at the time, Google Cardboard was only compatible with YouTube’s Android app. Now it is available on Apple’s App Store as well.
Google Cardboard was created a few years ago and is intended to be a low-cost alternative to more expensive alternatives like the Oculus Rift.
IPhone users looking to check out some virtual reality content can visit YouTube’s dedicated 360-degree video hub.
