SBTV creator and Candy Crush company chief exec inducted into the BIMA Hall of Fame

The British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) has inducted Jamal Edwards and Riccardo Zacconi into its Hall of Fame.

Digital entrepreneur, Jamal Edwards, is being recognised for his contributions to the online music industry for creating the SBTV music platform while Zacconi is being recognised for his work with social games company King which is best known for the hugely successful Candy Crush app.

Adam Graham, chair of BIMA and managing partner of Cactus, said: “King’s Candy Crush is one of the most addictive mobile games ever, and Richard Zacconi is a whizz in both the social and casual gaming domains.

Discussing Edwards work Graham said: “Jamal Edwards is a genius who started out with a camera and founded a hugely successful company. We’re proud to announce them into the BIMA Hall of Fame, and also really excited about our inspirational BIMA 100!”

The awards ceremony also honoured the BIMA 100: a list of UK’s biggest movers and shakers in digital. This year the 100 entries into 10 categories in recognition of the UK digital industry’s diverse talents. Existing categories include brand-side digital stars, chief executive and leaders, champions, creatives, innovators and entrepreneurs, rising stars and UX and service design, while new categories include devs & makers, client service stars, and planners and strategists.
