Shoreditch-based brand and retail design agency Missouri Creative has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of a new creative director in the form of Phil Heys.

In his new role Heys will oversee all creative output from Missouri’s 25-strong studio, ensuring the agency continues to deliver high quality design across multiple touchpoints.

Heys will report directly into Missouri’s co-founders and creative directors, Stuart Wood and Paul Brennan, who he previously worked with at Fitch, where he spent 13 years, working his way from senior designer to creative director, leading 360 degree branding campaigns for clients such as Adidas and Mclaren.

The appointment of Heys will enable Wood and Brennan to spend more time building the business and working with clients to develop game-changing strategies and ideas.

Speaking of the appointment Stuart Wood said: “Phil brings the blend of heavyweight experience and light-hearted personality that embody the Missouri ethos – delivering outstanding creativity and being fun to work with. Having Phil as part of our senior team cements our promise to be a truly creatively-led agency, where clients have direct access to senior creatives on a day-to-day basis. It will also allow us to strengthen our strategic offering, with more of Paul’s time freed up to focus on this key area for clients.”

Heys said: “I’ve known Stuart and Paul for a long time, and am relishing the chance to work with them both again at Missouri. What they’ve achieved with the agency in such a short time has been remarkable, and I’m excited about joining such a fast-moving business. I’m confident that our collective blend of strategic thinking, original creativity and love of great craftsmanship will continue to be a willing formula for clients seeking truly outstanding retail and brand design campaigns.”

Missouri’s services cover retail environments, brand communications, brand creation and visual identity, bringing brands to life through authentic brand storytelling and rich physical experiences. The agency’s clients include Foot Locker, Pernod Ricard, Estée Lauder, Eroski, Woven Image, Yumi and Pentland Brands and was the winner of The Drum’s Branding and Design Consultancy of the Year in 2015.
