AT&T’s Cricket Wireless is giving narcissistic selfie culture a little PSA treatment in celebration of Mother’s Day. #PhotoMombing with the associated film “This Mother’s Day, put Mom in the picture,” was created by Marina Del Rey, California-based social content agency Shareability — and humorously follows the story of several moms who will stop at nothing to photobomb oversharing offspring and their friends — just to make sure they remember who’s boss.

The points? Appreciate your mother and we’re going to get into every selfie to keep you grounded.

The film has several guilt-laden moments with accompanying snappy dialogue.

“Who do you think pays for those unlimited data plans you little snot-monsters?”

“You want to resist? Fine. Remember Facebook? Ruined that for you, didn’t we?”

“I’m not cool enough to be on “Instantgram pix” or your “Snapshots.” (Yes, they purposely flubbed the platform names.)

It all leads up to the rally call for moms: photobombing as much as humanly possible.

“It’s time for mothers to act,” says one mom.

“That is why I’m going to photobomb the fun out of every, single selfie,” says another.

The payoff? Gold.

“After all, it takes a village to raise a child — and save it from becoming a self-obsessed little miscreant.”

Despite the Italian grandmother treatment (I have some experience with that), it is well-cast, funny and does make its point with the right wink to ensure that the children of today, don’t turn in to the millennials of tomorrow.
