‘Purple Rain’ most Shazamed Prince song following artist’s death

Following music icon Prince’s death earlier this month, many fans have been grieving the artist’s death by finding and purchasing his songs.

According to Nielsen Music, in the four days after he was found dead at the age of 57, 650,000 of his albums were sold.

During the three days following Prince’s death, there were 1.2m Shazams of his songs globally, according to the music recognition service.

In the US, there were 796,000 Shazams of his songs.

According to Shazam, ‘Purple Rain,’ ‘Kiss’ and ‘1999’ have been the most Shazamed Prince songs globally.
