Estrella Damm has tapped actress Dakota Johnson to star in its first short film, with the brand claiming it is 'the first' beer brand to use a short as part of its advertising strategy.

The 'Vale' film tells the the story of Rachael (Johnson) who is traveling through Spain alone. When she arrives in Ibiza she meets a group of Spanish friends who offer to show her around the island, and introduce her to food, beer, and beaches.

According to Estrella Damm, Vale was one of the highest trending videos on YouTube in Spain in 2015 with 10 million views across YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

Alejandro AmenĂ¡bar, who co-wrote and directed the film, said: "We worked to a traditional film structure and put together a group of characters that would allow us to explore a typical Mediterranean friendship group...This film portrays the impulse to say 'vale' and join any invitation that a friend may offer."

The trailer to Vale will be screened across Channel 4 digital channels, and before screenings at outdoor cinema pop-up Luna Cinema this summer.
