To coincide with the return of HBO’s fantasy drama Game of Thrones on Sunday night, Tourism Ireland has activated a new campaign around the show where much of the show is shot in Northern Ireland.

Building upon the creative aligned with last season, the new campaign kicks off with a series of 10 carved doors, depicting moments inspired by the forthcoming season as it progresses – in weekly activations.

The doors will be carved from storm-felled trees at Dark Hedges in Antrim where many of the show’s Kingsroad scenes are filmed.

The ten doors will be hanged in various tourism hotspots across the county. The push will be solidified with short video set for release in Great Britain, the US, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.

It will roll until the end of June, when season six will conclude.

Upcoming attractions also include Valyrian steel kitchen, GOT entries in the Ulster Museum’s collection; and an official GOT stamp for fans of the show.
