Bacardi hires former News International CCO Nick Stringer as as European director of creative excellence

Bacardi has tapped former News International chief creative officer Nick Stringer to head up creative excellence across Europe.

Stringer will be responsible for developing marketing communications strategies and campaigns for Martini, Dewars and Bombay Sapphire, and replaces Victoria Morris who will take on the new role of global operations director, creative excellence.

Stringer has over 20 years experience working in advertising, publishing and broadcast media. Prior to his role as chief creative officer at News International he worked at BBH and Saatchi & Saatchi.

“It’s an exciting time at Bacardi,” said Zara Mirza, head of Creative Excellence. “In the past 10 months, we've embedded a new, company structure which included creating two Centres of Excellence - one in North America and one in Europe – in order to create new ways of working in marketing that will help make our brands more relevant to consumers.

"I’m pleased to have Nick join an already exceptional team. He has a great track-record in delivering work that not only excites, but delivers business results."

Meanwhile in her new role Morris will manage the brand portfolio and will focus on marketing operations and optimisation and ensure smooth integration of agency partners within the Bacardi world.

The Centres of Excellence were created last year when Bacardi scrapped its chief marketing officer role to bring the company’s brand strategies closer to its. markets.
