Manchester United stars went head-to-head in a challenge to mark the club's global partnership with Swissquote in a new deal that will see the banking group have an increased presence at Old Trafford.

Swissquote, United’s official foreign exchange and online financial trading partner, agreed a new multi-year deal with the club with a new contract which expands its sponsorship rights.

Having initially partnered with the club in January last year the banking group has decided to increase its brand presence around the stadium and will now be visible during Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup matchdays, including appearances on the Club’s digital perimeter boards and post-match interview backdrops.

To mark the new partnership extension Swissquote held a special challenge event with United players Daley Blind, Michael Carrick, Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin and Chris Smalling.

The players competed against each at the Aon Training Complex using a giant ‘Forex Four’ board which tested their precision and midfielder Michael Carrick emerged as the victor.

In addition to advertising opportunities Swissquote will also offer its customers an array of prizes including hospitality tickets, a behind-the-scenes experience watching the team train at the Aon Training Complex and the chance to accompany the squad on European trips as well as other unique experiences.

Discussing the partnership Manchester United’s group managing director Richard Arnold said: “In a short space of time we have already achieved a lot together, thanks in no small part to what we have in common; always looking to innovate and be industry leaders.

“We have recently secured some new and exciting partnerships, however it is equally important for our long-term success that we enhance our relationship with existing partners.”

Swissquote chief executive and co-founder, Marc Burki, added: “The new deal reflects the ongoing success in the development of our global brand, particularly in our key markets such as the Middle-East and Asia.

“So far our partnership has seen us offer fans engaging content with their favourite United stars, highlighting the parallels between the worlds of football and Forex trading. We are looking forward to working even closer with the Club who share our values of passion, integrity, teamwork and an unwavering commitment to excellence.”
