Gambling searches are expected to rise by 600 times ahead of today's Grand National.

According to stats revealed by search engine Bing, Grand National online betting searches will hit an annual peak this afternoon.

Based on search trends, Bing predicts searches for horse racing and betting will increase by 68 per cent vs. the monthly average as the nation prepares to have a flutter and more than half (55 per cent) of those searching for the Grand National are expected to do so via mobile.

When it comes to brands Bet365 leads the way for desktop and mobile searches, with William Hill coming out on top for searches on tablet. The dominate age group searching for horse racing events and betting are 35-49 year-olds.

According to reports last year's winner Many Clouds will bid to emulate Red Rum in winning back-to-back runnings. Coverage of the £1m race is expected to be followed by 600m people worldwide and bookmakers estimate more than £150m will be wagered on the race.
