The Drum recently caught up with DigitasLBi’s North American chief creative officer Ronald Ng to find out what he thinks it takes to be a great creative. Ng joined DigitasLBi last year after serving as chief creative officer at BBDO & Proximity Singapore.

Aside from the usual attributes – passion, hard work – Ng said great creatives have a sense of insecurity that motivates them to do their best work.

“Insecurity drives me. I always ask, ‘is the work good enough?’” he said. Additionally, Ng said that he asks his teams if they think people will care about the work to ensure that the right ideas and insights come through.

His full interview with The Drum can be viewed above. See what GSD&M creative directors Leslie Shaffer and Nikki Baker had to say when we asked them what it takes to be a great creative.
