Brewdog is set to open its long awaited spirits arm, Lone Wolf, two years after it announced it's intention to enter the world of whisky, vodka and gin and "do something no-one else is doing".

The brewer announced in a blog post that operations will begin in April, when Brewdog said it will become "the only craft distillery in Scotland to make our base spirit from grain, under one roof."

The first product to be released will be Brewdog Vodka, which will be distilled onsite from scratch, overseen by head of spirits divison Steven Kersley, who was previously site operations manager at Diageo.

"We want to stretch the boundaries of what a distillery can do – and what a distillery should do. Starting with our own all-grain distilled vodka, through our bespoke gins and whiskies and a range of other spirits besides – we can’t wait to make this natural progression for BrewDog and make as big an impact on the spirits industry as we did on the beer industry," read the post.

The brewers has also created The Lone Wolf Founders Club, which will give such perks as exclusive single-cask whiskies (that will not be available to anyone else), the chance to design, distil and bottle your own unique gin and age your own barrel of Lone Wolf whisky.
