After a difficult day whittling down a record-breaking amount of entries the judging panel for The Drum's Digital Trading Awards has revealed the shortlisted finalists ahead of the awards ceremony where the UK’s finest ad tech luminaries will gather to hear who will take the top accolades.

Judging took place last week for The Drum’s Digital Trading Awards UK, in association with The Trade Desk, with the judging panel of industry luminaries chaired by Pippa Glucklich, Starcom Mediavest Group co-CEO, (see videos above for commentaries on the entrants).

The full list of finalists can be viewed here, and includes ad tech outfits such as Crimtan, Teads, The Exchange Lab and Quantcast, along with agencies including Infectious Media, Manning Gotlieb OMD, and Zenith Optimedia with work on behalf of brands including Asda, BT Sport and Heineken all in line for the plaudits.

Commenting on the entrants, Liz Rutgersson, Periscopix’s head of programmatic, and judging panel member, said: “As programmatic matures as an industry, the challenge for brands, tools and agencies is to continue to show their innovation and how they work to push the bar higher.

“The fast-paced and innovative nature of this industry means that what was considered revolutionary two years ago is now seen as the norm, so this year’s [awards] candidates were challenged to go above and beyond making the nominations even more deserving than ever.”

Anthony Rhind, Adform’s chief strategy officer, and fellow panel member, added: “Digital is moving so fast that it’s easy to underestimate the incrementality of what is being achieved. The DTA entries offered a brilliant snapshot of what’s being delivered across the industry.

“The work was genuinely ground breaking, with many great innovations that were consistently amplified by rigorous implementation. The number of commendations demonstrates that it’s not just the winners who should be proud on the night of the awards ceremony.”

The final results will be announced at a gala awards ceremony hosted on 4 May at the park Plaza Westminster (tickets are available here).

Sponsors of the awards include: Audience2Media, Double Click, eXelate, Integral Ad Science, Rubicon Project, Sphere Digital Recruitment and TubeMogul
