Celebrity Big Brother, The X Factor and Eastenders on Ofcom's most complained about list

Ofcom has revealed its list of the most complained about TV shows in its 12-year history with Celebrity Big Brother taking the top spot.

The media watchdog's figures show that the programme led to 73,788 complaints in total since it began on Channel 4.

Also in the list is The X Factor (ITV), which generated 20,548 complaints, Jerry Springer: The Opera (BBC Two 2) 8,860, and UKIP: The First 100 Days (Channel 4), 6,187. Sky News, Eastenders, and Britian's Got Talent also featured.

The majority of complaints about Celebrity Big Brother, which first aired in 2001, were recieved during series five in 2007 about Jade Goody’s behaviour towards housemate Shilpa Shetty.
