WPP has announced that its healthcare communications network, Sudler & Hennessey, has acquired Viscira.

Viscira, which posted revenues of $17m as of December 31, 2015, has 17 of the world’s top 25 pharmaceutical companies as its clients. The company employs over 100 people and is based in San Francisco, with offices in New York and London. It was founded in 2007.

Sudler & Hennessey will benefit from Viscira’s interactive digital marketing programs which it creates for clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry, allowing them to connect with their audience in unique, differentiated and immersive ways.

The acquisition of the healthcare marketing firm will strengthen WPP’s footing in the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets in the US. Sudler & Hennessey is part of WPP’s Branding & Identity, Healthcare and Specialist Communications group which generates group revenues of around $6bn.
