Two founders of M&C Saatchi, Jeremy Sinclair and David Kershaw have backed a start-up that’s helping mums retrain in digital roles as it plots an international expansion.

Called Digital Mums, the two-year old organisation trains mums to be social media managers through 20 weeks of ‘live learning’, where they are matched with SMEs that need help with their social media. So far, 300 mums have retrained.

The company has now secured £285,000 investment to fuel its next growth spurt, with some £200,000 having been put up by Kershaw and Sinclair alongside digital entrepreneur Martin Leuw and start-up consultant Danielle Anderson. The other £85,000 has come from the Big Venture Challenge.

The new investment will be used to scale up across the UK, with plans to go international in 2017/18.
