Jury chairman Beri Cheetham, executive creative director at Leo Burnett, said of this year’s entries: “The first thing that struck the judges was the sheer volume of entries. Although daunting to be face with so many, it was reassuring to see how alive the industry is beyond the M25. Clients are commissioning work, lots of it. So that’s good for everyone you’d think. Only, much of it looked quite cookie-cutter, templated and formulaic.

“Of course, there were plenty of outliers. Those who have the tenacity to find the alchemy of a great idea wedded to great craft. These were the ones celebrated by the judges.”

The Roses Creative Awards is due to take place on Thursday 12 May at the Mercure Hotel, Manchester. For more information on this year’s event, which is sponsored by Become and the Chesterfield Group, visit the Roses Creative Awards website.
