S3 Advertising appoints Andrew Jones and Greg Milsom to the board of directors

S3 Advertising has appointed two new senior executives to its board of directors.

Andrew Jones joins S3 as Chief Operations Officer, having been employed by US-based stock exchange Nasdaq Inc. (and formerly Thomson Reuters) for the past 16 years where he held a variety of roles including Global Operations Manager and Head of EMEA and APAC Content Strategy. Jones will head up the agency side of S3, which employs 16 non-client facing members of staff.

Jones said: “S3 Advertising is not only one of Wales’ leading national advertising agencies but is also one of the UK’s most recognised. Most recently, and for the second year running, S3 was ranked number one in the UK for client satisfaction. It is because of their unique approach to customers and their staff that I very much look forward to taking up the role of Chief Operations Officer. There's a lot to do and important goals to achieve, however, I’m confident that with the fantastic team of industry specialists at S3 and my leadership, experience and expertise anything is possible.”

Greg Milsom also joins S3 in the role of chief customer officer. Milsom was employed by Barclays Bank PLC for the past eight years where he held multiple senior leadership roles, most recently heading up a regional team across South West England and Wales within the large Corporate Banking division. Milsom will lead S3’s team of client facing employees and delivering on the agency’s aggressive business plan.

Discussing his appointment, Milsom said: " S3's popularity and market share are going from strength to strength so being given the responsibility to support, create and be part of the growth strategy fills me with enthusiasm! Ultimately, clients are the lifeblood of the agency. The creative flair and ambition within the team will allow us to win, retain and service client requirements to the highest possible standards and over-deliver on our propositions to give us the edge.”

Matt Jones, S3 Advertising’s chief executive officer, said of the new hires: “When I launched the company from my attic in the June of 2011, I had a vision that I would grow the company to be able to compete not only with the other national agencies in Wales but across the rest of the UK. My plan was to secure the most talented people from within the industry and grow the service teams around them. Over the past four and a half years we have done just that; we have grown at an accelerated pace and now it's time to take stock of our achievements, realign our business plan and get ready to take on the bigger national agencies.”

S3 Advertising has grown significantly over the past four years, from a three-person start-up to a company which now employs 33 members of staff, including designers, media buyers and account managers.
