When Roku rolled out the Roku 4 at the end of 2015, it promised an extensive, easy-to-access, 4K content library. Until then, 4K TV owners were struggling to find content formatted for the expensive TVs they paid for, and if they did find this content, it was spread out on different platforms.

Now, via its partnership with Insignia, Roku is releasing its own 4K TVs, which are now available exclusively at Best Buy.

4K TVs have also been expensive, and those searching for a new set have not felt that the technology is a ‘must-have.’ One can argue that the technology is still not necessary, but Roku’s new line is certainly more affordable than other 4K TVs:

• 43" LED 4K Ultra HD Insignia Roku TV (NS-43DR710NA17): $399.99.

• 50" LED 4K Ultra HD Insignia Roku TV (NS-50DR710NA17): $499.99.

• 55" LED 4K Ultra HD Insignia Roku TV (NS-55DR710NA17): $649.99.

“These new TVs combine excellent picture quality and resolution with an easy to use smart TV experience that is truly unique to Roku TV – all at an affordable price,” said Chas Smith, SVP and general manager Roku TV & Players. “Customer response to the HD Insignia Roku TV models has been tremendous and we expect that same enthusiasm for these new TVs as consumers look for a great 4K UHD smart TV.”

The TVs feature the latest Roku OS, which includes the 4K Spotlight Channel – a hub that provides in one place a curated selection of 4K content options. Additionally, in the channel store, a 4K UHD category includes streaming services with 4K entertainment.
