To kick off MS Awareness Week the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has engaged Wieden+Kennedy Portland to help MS sufferers explore their passions in a new way.

‘Together We Are Stronger’ combines the power of storytelling, the strength of shared connections and the very latest technology in a bid to bring people together to share the solutions they have uncovered to overcome the challenges of MS.

Employing the virtual reality (VR) tech, campaign films – ‘Off my wave’ and ‘Exit stage never’ – show MS sufferers Steve Bettis and Amy Meisner indulging their passions in a new way.

Of the campaign Wieden+Kennedy Portland, executive creative director, Joe Staples said: “Each person we met was working around their specific symptoms with dignity and passion. But equally, each had at least one action or hobby that they still talked of fondly, something they could no longer do. What became clear as we worked was how VR allowed these people to experience some of the things MS had taken from them.”

The campaign encourages those whose lives have been touched by MS to connect online using the hashtag #WeAreStrongerThanMS.
