Channel 4’s winter sports themed celebrity vehicle The Jump will not be probed by Ofcom despite a succession of injuries to befall contestants, after the media regulator observed that all participants were aware of the risks before signing up.

This follows the exit of no less than seven high profile celebrities from the show after injuries forced them to discontinue their involvement, with others suffering more minor bumps and scrapes.

Following these a number of complaints were made to the regulator but in their response Ofcom said: "We noted that all the participants in The Jump were consenting adults and were aware of the potential risk of injury when they decided to take part."

On the gameshow contestants must compete to outdo each other on a ‘challenging and dangerous’ ski jump, with the record this season set by Ben Cohen who managed a leap of 18.25m.
