Amazon to trial a shoppable live fashion show

Amazon is set to roll out its first ever shoppable live-stream this evening (Tuesday 8 March) in a show called Style Code Live.

With the move, the etailer has adopted the a QVC-like style shopping channel, accessible on amazon.com/stylecodelive from 9 PM ET (3 AM GMT).

The show will be hosted by MTV’s Lyndsey Rodrigues, ABC’s Rachel Smith, and CBS’s Frankie Grande, in addition to a rotation of special guests.

Munira Rahemtulla, head of Style Code Live, told Variety: “Our viewers have been asking for fashion and beauty tips,”

“We wanted to build something for them, so we came up with ‘Style Code Live.’ We’ve been working on it for quite a while. We think this is something viewers are really looking for, and we’re excited about it.”

As it is live, the show will feature live chat and will be shoppable via a gallery below the video.

The live stream comes after it emerged Amazon Video has ambitions in the VR realm earlier today (Tuesday 8 March).
