Mother’s Day spending projected to reach £928m

Mother’s Day spending is being predicted to reach £928m this year as Briton’s splash the cash to impress their mum’s.

Research compiled by Dacia suggests that the average Brit will cough up £58 with men twice as likely as women to lavish up to £100 on their mum.

Most British children believe that a card, present or flowers would be sufficient to keep their mum’s happy but mother’s themselves were found to value time with their children above material gifts.

No less than 86 per cent of mum’s quizzed by the poll expressed a clear preference for sharing quality time with family with 15 per cent going so far as to organise the day themselves.
