Liverpool have strengthened their flourishing sponsorship portfolio after agreeing a deal with Chinese automotive firm MG Auto in an unusual partnership that will give birth to a Liverpool-themed vehicle.
The 18 month partnership will make MG Auto the official Chinese automotive partner for the remainder of this season and the entirety of next.
To celebrate the partnership MG Auto are reportedly planning to launch a Liverpool FC-themed vehicle. No further details are yet known but the Liverpool branded product follows a similar pledge from the club’s Chinese TV partner PPTV who made 5,000 Liverpool themed TVs.
As part of the arrangement, Liverpool players Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and the captain, Jordan Henderson, will appear in TV ads for the company which will air early next year.
Liverpool are among one of the most active European clubs in pursuing sponsorships with brands around the world. Recently the club agreed a deal with Thai coconut water brand Chaokoh, making it Liverpool’s official coconut water supplier.
