The world’s leading music streaming service Spotify has been integrated with the digital dashboard of new Volvo cars.

A new integration between the Swedish companies sees users able to utilise Spotify’s musical offering – without hooking a mobile up to the dash.

Although a smartphone with a Spotify app can be used to browse the in-car UI, users can fully utilise the touch screen dash of the new XC90, S90 and V90 models.

Users will have to subscribe to Spotify Premium in order to access the feature although a free month will be readily available to new users.

Björn Annwall, senior vice president marketing sales and service at Volvo Cars, said: "Anyone that has used Spotify knows how great it is – you have access to your favourite music, all the time. We are very proud of our unique and custom-made interface for Spotify."

The joint partnership was unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona, Spain.
