Social Media Week, now in it's eighth year, kicks off today. Each year the week of social media panels, parties and events has become more professional, fun and Fashion Week like. There are a bunch of great events that TV executives should check out. Found Remote's other Executive Editor, Adam Flomenbaum, contributor Yale Buchwald and myself will all be attending. Wednesday, February 24th from 3-3:50pm at the SVA Theater - Reach New Viewers! Develop Superfans! Impact Ratings! Launching A TV Show Via Social Media! - Hosted by Vayner Media executives, this "masterclass details how efficient, strategic media spend, time-shifting strategies and always-on content with a consistent voice can combine to increase buzz, awareness, and viewership (both linear and elsewhere like video-on-demand), with concrete, indisputable results."

Thursday, February 25th from 9-10:30am at Starcom MediaVest Group - Social TV As A Modern Focus Group - Hosted by Found Remote editorial partner Canvs and CEO Jared Feldman, executives from Viacom (Vice President of Social Media Activations & Earned Media, Lydia Daly), HBO (Director of Digital and Social Media Emily Giannusa and Research Director for Social Media Analytics, Leslie Koch) and MediaVest (SVP Search and Social, MediaVest, Jason Dailey), A+E Networks (Vice President, Morgan Greco) and Brave Venture (Cofounder Jesse Redniss) will get together to discuss emotional expressions on social media and what it means for TV.

Friday, February 26th from 2:30-3:20pm at the TimesCenter -

Hello "Founders" - Meet The Generation After Millennials, Presented By MTV - MTV's Tom Fishman, Jane Gould and Taylor Trudon will discuss the "Founders" generation, a term they came with after a recent and massive research project that polled the actual generation themselves. With the recent Viacom/Snapchat news this is a must see event.
