There is another way to get a food jones handled in Portland, Oregon. Grubhub announced that they are setting up house (table?) in the Rose City, as the mobile food-ordering and delivery platform continues its expansion.

The company acquired Delivered Dish, a Portland-based delivery company in December 2015 and currently has 55 Portland restaurants on the delivery roster, with plans to grow that number. Grubhub counts Seamless, AllMenus, MenuPages, Restaurants on the Run and DiningIn as part of their portfolio as well. The company launched in June 2014 and has expanded to 50 markets in the US.

Recently, Grubhub announced relationships with a number of national chain restaurants, including California Pizza Kitchen, Buca di Beppo, Veggie Grill and Panda Express — which may be counter to the unique, independent, eclectic food vibe in Portland, though there are several local options, such as the delicious Isabel, available.

The food delivery scene in Portland, however, is competitive with several popular restaurants and food carts such as Potato Champion (a personal favorite), Kenny and Zukes, Pine State Biscuits and Pok Pok on delivery platforms Caviar, Postmates and Amazon Prime Now. It will be interesting to see which of Portland’s food darlings make the move or add Grubhub to their list.

But if you’re craving meatballs and prefer to do so alone, as you watch several episodes of Grimm, Grubhub has you covered.

"We strive to make delicious food that attracts new customers and keeps them coming back," said Jeff Extine, manager of 24th and Meatballs in NE Portland. "With Grubhub delivery, we are able to reach new and old customers so they can easily enjoy our meatballs in the comfort of their own home."
