R&D tax specialist Breakthrough Funding has launched the first ever UK Championship of ‘Brit Pong’ – the UK version of Beer Pong – with the triumphant team going on to represent the UK at the Beer Pong World Championship in Las Vegas.

The first ever Brit Pong championships take place on 29 February.

Marketed to start-ups and the tech community, the inaugral UK championships will be held at Bounce in Farringdon on the 29 February. Beer Pong is an up-and-coming pub sport, where players attempt to bounce ping pong balls into their opponents’ cups.

Breakthrough Funding, in collaboration with their digital agency Yoyo, has created a microsite hosting the completion rules and sign-up information.

Sue Nelson, chief executive officer of Breakthrough Funding: “It’s going to be a great evening with team entries from across the UK. We even have a team from No 10 Downing Street! We’re offering a £5,000 cash prize and the winners will be the official Uk champions to go out to Las Vegas for the World Series of Beer Pong."

Hannah Smith, account manager of Yoyo, commented: "Working with Breakthrough Funding over the last year has been a whirlwind of creativity and innovation. The creation of the Brit Pong microsite is the latest initiative. Being bold and different is giving the company the edge to succeed. They’ve shown that a B2B audience responds just as well to creativity as a B2C audience."

The deadline for entries is 15 February 2016.
