Splash Worldwide has hired Alastair Duncan, the co-founder of Jaguar's global in-house agency Spark44, to fill the newly-created post of global chief strategy officer.

Duncan’s presence will herald a more co-ordinated approach to strategy by the activation agency, which has previously drafted in planning resource as and when it was needed.

“More insight needs to be at the heart of what we do," said Splash chairman Graham Hinton. "Consumers’ media consumption habits are changing fast and we have to understand them."

The arrival of Duncan, a former MRM Worldwide chief executive, completes a trio of recent hirings that include Austin Vernon and Simon Parmeggiani, who held senior digital creative roles at Bartle Bogle Hegarty. They will join an existing roster of 180 staff spread across offices in Portland, New York, London, Berlin and Dubai.

Duncan said: “One way I can help the business by tying together Splash’s various activities into a single-minded approach. The other is by looking at how we develop intelligent and efficient content strategies that are right for our brands’ consumers.”

Splash works on global marketing support for Norwegian Airlines and Beats and in the luxury sector with brands including Calvin Klein and Cartier.
