UTV promises to shake up radio with new station featuring line-up of renowned presenters

UTV Media has announced the launch date of its new radio station, TalkRadio, which aims to shake up the medium with its line-up of renowned presenters and array of informative shows.

TalkRadio is scheduled to launch on Monday 21 March and will feature a team of bold characters including Paul Ross, Sam Delaney, Julia Hartley-Brewer, Iain Lee and George Galloway.

The station will have a number of shows which aim to discuss topical news and trends from celebrity culture to politics.

Broadcaster and journalist, Paul Ross- The Big Breakfast and Most Haunted- will lead the weekday breakfast show from 6am-10am and will be followed on by Question time and Have I Got News For You regular, Julia Hartley-Brewer.

TalkSport guest presenter, Sam Delaney, will host the weekday Drivetime slot from 4-7pm and Iain Lee makes his return to radio with the 10pm late night show.

The fiery politician and writer George Galloway will discuss the big political topics on his Friday night show from 7-10pm.

Paul Ross, presenter of the station’s Breakfast Show, said: “TalkRadio is going to bring something new and fresh to the world of digital radio, and I can’t wait to get into the studio and start talking to our listeners every morning.”

Liam Fisher, national radio controller for UTV Media, said the new station “will give listeners something completely different from morning until night with presenters and content guaranteed to get you talking. Our work is still not done, with more fantastic presenters to be announced later this month.”
