A new web plugin has enabled torrent site users to stream TV and video content fully cutting out the need to download files.

The Torrents Time plugin lets users to stream the video content through a wide array of web browsers, turning the likes of the Pirate Bay and other torrent sites into an illicit Netflix.

While the system remains in beta at the moment, it promises instant streaming of files in the peer-to-peer network and also comes pre-loaded with a VPN, purporting to offer anonymity to its users.

The free to use app, pitches the plugin to website administrators: “By harnessing the incredible abilities of torrents, you can transform your website, in a matter of seconds to an amazing, simple to use streaming website.

"With Torrents Time you'll be able to generate more revenue than with any other monetization company while putting a stop to annoying ads.”

Netflix chief executive Reed Hastings claimed during the launch of the company in Spain last year that “piracy created a public used to viewing content on the internet,” likening pirated content to tap water and his service to bottled water.
