David Cameron’s EU negotiation may be sinking as Portuguese confuse him with Titanic director
British Prime Minister David Cameron’s bid to secure concessions from Europe to help see off Brexit doesn’t appear to have had a high profile in Portugal, after the country’s public broadcaster confused him with another famous Cameron – Titanic director James.
The mix up saw a picture editor at the RTP1 station mistakenly superimpose a stock photo of the Oscar winner over a montage of the Union Jack and European flags whilst an oblivious presenter brought a confused audience up to speed with the latest political developments.
The gaffe was quickly spotted and editors removed the embarrassing montage, but not before recordings of the blunder began circulating on social media.
