VCCP has hired Cake’s Dermot McPartland as the creative director for its content and marketing arm.

He joins the management team for VCCP Kin and will work closely with its executive creative director Darren Bailes on accounts including O2 and EasyJet. The agency describes his role as “creating big storytelling campaigns in the social and experiential space”.

At Cake, McPartland oversaw all its output across social, live and PR in his role as European creative director. Prior to this, he was at Mother where he set up and ran the agency’s creative production hub Mother Experience, working with clients such as Stella Artois, Pot Noodle and Google. He also co-founded the creative agency PD3 in 1998 and served as its chief creative officer.

Saint Lewis, MD of VCCP Kin, added: “Dermot is a fantastic talent – his passion, enthusiasm and experience in great story telling will help us to continue to raise the bar in the social and content space for our clients”.
