Last week, the Coalition for the Homeless rolled out a video to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and remind viewers that homeless kids have hopes and dreams just like any other kid.

Called ‘I Have a Dream,’ the ad references King’s famous 1963 speech where he called for an end to racism in the US.

Created by Havas Adrenaline, the short film has been voted by US Creative Works readers as Ad of the Week.

In the ad, homeless young boys and girls look straight into the camera and say what their dreams are.

“I have a dream to go to a really good college,” one little boy says while a young girl states that she one day hopes to win a gold medal for her country and her family.

At the end, viewers are reminded that 24,000 children in New York City sleep in homeless shelters and are encouraged to go to the Coalition for the Homeless’s website to learn more about how to help.

If you’d like to vote for next week’s winner, visit our US Creative Department here. The ad that receives the most votes will be named ‘US Ad of the Week’ next Wednesday.
