Airbnb removes Storm Jonas igloo listing for 'not meeting occupancy standards'
One enterprising individual built and listed an igloo on Airbnb while Storm Jonas shuttered much of the US east coast.
In the aftermath of the blizzard, the newly erected accommodation was shared on Imgur across the weekend.
The ‘Boutique Winter Igloo for 2’ was listed in Brooklyn, offering many traits to attract holiday-goers looking for a carbon neutral trip.
The listing claims the igloo is ‘hand-crafted, and built using only natural elements’ and will provide the “experience of a lifetime in the chic dome-style bungalow for you and bae”.
The accommodation was to cost $200 per night, in place for a limited time – obviously.
Airbnb pulled the listing hours after it was posted.
Got shut down by @Airbnb for not meeting occupancy standards. Though they were nice enough to tell us that it looked very well constructed.
