Advertising Week Europe announced today that Rebecca Eaves has been named its first UK director.

Eaves, who has more than 20 years experience in advertising and marketing, will leave her current role as commercial marketing director at Bauer Media and join the organisation, in this newly-created role, 1 March.

“Advertising Week Europe has become the biggest industry event this side of the Atlantic – and it’s only going to get bigger and better,” said Eaves, who will give Advertising Week Europe year-round presence for the brand in Europe. “After working with such a fantastic team at Bauer Media, this is an exciting step forward for me and I’m thrilled to be involved in such a dynamic and thought-provoking enterprise”.

“Rebecca is a fantastic addition to our team and strengthens our practical, tactical presence on the ground in London. Her blend of skill sets and track record of success is exactly what we need to help propel Advertising Week Europe into the future,” said Matt Scheckner, Advertising Week Europe CEO.

Beginning 18 April, this is the fourth year of the annual conference with sessions, keynotes and special events at iconic London landmarks and venues. In past years, the event has attracted some of the top global leaders in advertising, marketing, media and technology — and included numerous celebrities and A-listers such as Jimmy Carr, Salma Hayek, Idris Elba, Steve Coogan, Clare Balding, Susie Essman and more.

Registration for this year’s edition is currently open.

The Drum has participated in Advertising Week Europe as a media partner, including last year’s panel “The Creep Show,” moderated by editor and co-founder, Gordon Young and editor at large, Dave Birss.
