Adele has become the quickest artist ever to rack up 1bn YouTube views courtesy of her latest single, ‘Hello’, which achieved the landmark feat within a mere 87 days.

The news caps a phenomenal start to the year for the ever popular singer-songwriter, who scored another viral hit with her Carpool karaoke video with James Corden from the Late Late Show, recognised just two days ago as the most viral late-night clip to hit the web since 2013.

Adele is in good company as a member of the exclusive billion plus views club; joining the likes of Maroon 5's “Sugar," Major Lazer's "Lean On," Eminem's “Love The Way You Lie," LMFAO's “Party Rock” and Sia's “Chandelier."

The time needed to smash the billion views barrier has been reducing in recent years with Katy Perry battling for 487 days to attain the landmark figure in 2013 and Taylor Swift taking 238 days to reach the same figure just a year later.
