LinkedIn cites ‘motivated’, ‘creative’ & ‘enthusiastic’ as most off-putting buzzwords

LinkedIn has revealed the top 10 most overused corporate buzzwords to pollute its site where generic attempts to sell individuals vanish into a mulch of blandness that merely serves to turn off employers.

Members are being advised to refrain from meaningless waffle in their profiles through the use of terms such as ‘enthusiastic’, ‘track record’ and ‘motivated’ and instead employ pictures and presentations to demonstrate skills without bluntly stating them.

Darain Faraz, head of consumer PR at LinkedIn commented: “We wouldn’t describe ourselves as 'strategic', 'driven' or as having 'extensive experience' in real life situations, so why do it on a LinkedIn profile?”
