Online takeaway platform Hungryhouse has promoted its marketing director Alice Mrongovius to the top role at the company as it former CEO Scott Fletcher moves to a senior management role within parent group Delivery Hero.

Mrongovius joined Delivery Hero in 2011 as its seventh employee, it now has over 2,500 staff globally, before becoming moving up the ranks to become marketing director for hungryhouse in 2014 where she has helped define the brand in the competitive UK market.

She led the brand refresh of ‘The easy way to takeaway’, which has increased brand awareness from 53 per cent to 73 per cent in the last 12 months and helped takeaway orders grow above 50 per cent in 2015.

Niklas Östberg, Delivery Hero chief executive said: “Our presence in the UK market is improving rapidly and I am delighted that Hungryhouse will now be under Alice’s leadership. I’m also excited to be working closer with Scott on international business at a senior management level and look forward to him driving the business forward.”

It comes following a shake-up at nearest competitor Just Eat. Earlier this week it was revealed that former Notonthehighstreet.com marketing director Ben Carter will now head up its UK marketing arm.

A replacement has yet been found to lead Hungryhouse’s marketing efforts in the UK.
