Portlandia duo accelerate Subaru partnership with comedy web sketches

The creators of alterative US sketch show Portlandia have created a four-part web series to promote show partner Subaru.

Bringing to life his Talkative Driver character, Armisen irritates his passengers with a slew of ceaseless questions while, naturally, driving a Subaru.

The Japanese auto firm has been partnered with the show since its second season.

Blake Callaway, executive vice president of marketing and digital media at comedy broadcaster IFC told Adweek: “This year we wanted to evolve the partnership a little bit, do we went to the writer's room and created this first standalone web series."

On top of the four slots, the auto company will also feature in season six of Portlandia which returns to TV screens this week.
