Verizon’s streaming platform go90 is mobile-first, and since launching, it has formed content partnerships that also fit this designation (Maker Studios and Endemol Beyond among them).

This month, go90 also announced a partnership with StyleHaul – a digital network of style-focused digital influencers who attract more than 60 million unique viewers each month – to bring Relationship Status, a new scripted series, to the platform. The show will follow the relationships of 20 and 30 year olds in New York and Los Angeles, and will be told through the lens of social storytelling.

Along with traditional actors, the cast will also feature influencers from the StyleHaul network; this, go90 hopes, will attract the influencers’ social followings to the platform.

“As a mobile-first platform, go90 makes it easy for viewers to not only discover and enjoy Relationship Status, but also to share that content because the platform is inherently social,” Brian Angiolet, svp, consumer product and marketing, go90, told Found Remote. “This audience is already viewing and sharing content from their favorite digital influencers, many of whom are part of the Relationship Status cast, and go90 allows them to extend the same behavior to scripted, serialized content.”

While Relationship Status is a scripted show and the influencers do not have formal acting experience, Angiolet does not think that this will be an issue. “Digital influencers are adept at leveraging social and mobile mediums to create personas and tell stories,” said Angiolet. "Relationship Status presents an opportunity to create characters based on their digital personas, and showcase their natural story-telling talents for an audience that seamlessly relates.
